Slack is one of the most important tool for communicating with your team at work, in this tutorial we will be looking at how to install slack desktop version on xubuntu 18.04 bionic.
How to install Slack Desktop on Xubuntu 18.04
- download slack debian package (.DEB) from slack official website
- open command line/terminal
- install slack debian package (assuming the name of the debian package is slack-desktop-3.3.3-amd64.deb and located on Downloads folder on your home directory)
sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/slack-desktop-3.3.3-amd64.deb
Once installed, you can open slack desktop from xubuntu start menu > Internet > Slack.
How to uninstall Slack Desktop
To uninstall slack desktop, you need to run this command:
sudo dpkg --remove slack-desktop
