How to install Google Chrome on Xubuntu


Google chrome is one of the most popular web browser in the universe, but it's not available on xubuntu by default, so you need to download from google website and install it on your xubuntu if you want to use it.


Step by step how to install google chrome on xubuntu
  • first we need to install libappindicator1, libindicator7 and fonts-liberation packages, these packages are needed by google chrome. Install using command line like this:
  • sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install libindicator7 libappindicator1 fonts-liberation
  • next you can download the google chrome debian package (.deb), from google chrome download page. You can install directly after download or you just download the package and install through command line up to you.
  • sudo dpkg -i [the_debian_package.deb]
    sudo dpkg -i google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb
  • That's it, you just install google chrome on xubuntu.
