Maybe you are a web developer who needs to test web application on different web browser (or you just someone who needs more than one web browser), you might want to add opera on your computer.
Just like google chrome, opera also does not exist on the current repository on xubuntu/ubuntu, so to install opera you must manually download the package from opera website.
Step by step how to install opera browser on xubuntu
- download the debian package of opera browser from opera website
- go to 'Downloads' folder on your home directory (assuming the downloaded file is on 'Downloads' folder)
cd ~/Downloads
sudo dpkg -i opera-stable_40.0.2308.81_amd64.deb
